LED lighting is a reality and an advanced technology. The most remarkable feature compared to any other type of lighting technology is its luminous efficiency. Therefore, lighting devices based on this technology promote savings and energy efficiency. In addition, new control systems in lighting and sensing of such facilities are leading us to have safe, intelligent and efficient facilities.

These new technologies are taking current facilities a step forward and turning them into Smart facilities to offer cities the possibility of becoming a Smart City. It is important to know the technology, in order to decide which is most suitable for each facility, its state of the art, its different options and the latest technological advances, which is indispensable for a technician who is in the process of bringing the facilities of the city to a Smart City.

In this context, the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Finance through the General Direction of Industry, Energy and Mines together with the Spanish Lighting Committee and the Energy Foundation, are in charge of the organization of this day, with the aim of bringing all the information on the latest technological and evolution of different light sources to industry professionals, sharing experiences with attendees and providing a forum for discussion between professionals and trends.
